The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) recommends $18,000 as a base figure, to cover one year's expenses for a single person.

Accommodation

Stanley College can assist students in your search for accommodation such as homestay, hostel or rental units. Homestay weekly rates range from $150 for a shared room with no meals to up to $290 for a private room with all meals included. Please contact Stanley College via email info@stanleycollege.edu.au at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival.

Working while Studying

Students holding a valid student visa can work 40 hours per fortnight** (accurate at time of print) while your course is in session, starting from the course commencement date. You can work unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks. This provides you with opportunities to improve your English and to integrate into the community. For more information relating to your permission to work, please visit www.immi.gov.au.

**A fortnight means a period of 14 days commencing on any Monday and ending on the second following Sunday
