Student Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible for a funded course at Stanley College if you have left school, your primary place of residence is in Western Australia and you are:

  • an Australian citizen OR
  • a permanent visa holder OR
  • holder of visa subclass 309, 820 or 826; OR
  • a dependent of the primary holder of a visa subclass 457

Additional Student Eligibility Criteria to receive funding under the participation program:

FOR CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY DIVERSE (CaLD) PEOPLE:
Candidates must be born overseas and hold the following documentation, including but not limited to:

  • a humanitarian visa OR
  • a passport OR
  • travel documents OR
  • a birth certificate

Candidates born in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, the United States of America and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are excluded from this program.

FOR JOB SEEKERS (JS):
Candidates must be:

  • unemployed or underemployed and have a written referral from an Approved Participation Referral Agent for Job Seekers; or
  • If self-referred, referred by another agency; or
  • recruited by the Service Provider. Job Seekers must have a “health care card: youth allowance” or “health care card: new start”. Other health care cards are not eligible, unless the person is referred by an Approved Participation Referral Agent for Job Seekers.

 


Student Concession fee for all courses:

The following students are eligible for a concession rate on fees (for training up to Certificate IV level):

  • holders (and their dependants) of either a pensioner concession card, repatriation health benefits card or health care card OR
  • recipients (and their dependants) of AUSTUDY, ABSTUDY or Youth Allowance OR
  • inmates of a custodial institution (and their dependants); AND
  • in 2018, students born on or after 1 July 2000 who are at least 15 years of age.

Please note: Concession rates do not apply to foundation skills and equity courses or Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses (unless otherwise specified)


Fee Waiver:

Student fees may be waived for applicants with severe financial hardship. For more information, call Stanley College at 9227 1797.
