10362NAT Certificate I in Spoken and Written English

This course is only available to local students participating in the Jobs and Skills WA funded program.
Course Duration
20 weeks + up to 6 weeks of holidays (for a minimum of 20 hours per week)
Qualification Rules
Students must complete 7 modules including:
  • 1 compulsory module
  • 6 elective modules

Course Content
Students must successfully complete the following units:
  • SWETRA103A Comprehending and participating in short transactional exchanges
  • SWEPER102A Giving personal information
  • SWEMSG107A Comprehending and leaving telephone messages
  • SWELRN101A Basic learning strategies
  • SWEINF104A Comprehending spoken information and instructions
  • SWEDES109A Comprehending and composing written descriptions
  • SWECON105A Comprehending and participating in short conversations

Further Studies
On completion of the 10362NAT Certificate I in Spoken and Written English, students may pursue a 10363NAT Certificate II in Spoken and Written English at Stanley College or other Government registered education organisations.
Sample Timetable for English Language Courses
The following timetable is a sample only. All classes cover reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Classes are rostered for 3 days per week (22.5 hours per week).

Schedule 1: Weekday (Day) Monday to Wednesday - 8.30am - 4.30pm
Schedule 2: Weekday (Day)Wednesday to Friday - 8.30am - 4.30pm
