Student Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible for a funded course at Stanley College if you have left school, your primary place of residence is in Western Australia and you are:  
  • an Australian citizen OR
  • a permanent visa holder OR
  • holder of visa subclass 309, 444, 820 or 826; OR
  • a dependent of the primary holder of a visa subclass 457; AND
  • candidates must be unemployed or under-employed

Additional Student Eligibility Criteria to receive funding
 
FOR PRIORITY INDUSTRY TRAINING (PIT) COURSES:
Students must not have an active apprenticeship/traineeship training contract on the Corporation’s Western Australian Apprenticeship Management System (WAAMS).

FOR JOB SEEKERS (JS):
Candidates must be:
Unemployed or underemployed and have a written referral from an Approved Participation Referral Agent for Job Seekers; or
If self-referred, referred by another agency recruited by the Service Provider.

Job Seekers must have a:
- Health Care Card: "youth allowance” or “health care card: new start”.Other health care cards are not eligible unless the person is referred by an Approved Participation Referral Agent for Job Seekers;
- OR a Pension Card.

FOR CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY DIVERSE (CaLD) COURSES:
  • Candidates must be born overseas and hold the following documentation, including but not limited to: a humanitarian visa; or a passport; or travel documents; or a birth certificate
  • Candidates must be unemployed or under-employed and have a written referral from an Approved Participation Referral Agent for the CALD cohort; or
  • If self-referred, referred by another agency or recruited by the Service Provider, CALD individuals must be:
    • unemployed and whose ancestry is not Anglo-Saxon, Anglo-Celtic, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and who have documentation that may include but is not limited to humanitarian visas, passports or travel
    Candidates born in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada, South Africa, the United States of America and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are excluded from this program.
    *Student Concession fee for all courses:
    The following students are eligible for a concession rate on fees (for training up to Certificate IV level).

    Persons and dependants of persons holding:
    - a Pensioner Concession Card;
    - OR a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs;
    - OR a Health Care Card.
    - Persons and dependants of persons in receipt of AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY.
    - Persons and dependants of persons in receipt of the Youth Allowance.
    - Persons and dependants of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution.
    - In 2019, students born on or after 1 July 2001 who are at least 15 years of age.

    Please note: Concession rates do not apply to foundation skills and equity courses or Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses (unless otherwise specified)
