Amana Living is one of Western Australia’s largest not-for-profit providers of care and services for over-55s. Its aim is to help people live a fulfilled and meaningful life and to stay as healthy and active as possible at every age and stage.
At Amana Living Duncraig (Lady McCusker Home), Stanley College students have the opportunity to experience up to 10 weeks of practical training, where you work alongside the care staff. The facility offers residential care and respite, including dementia care. Students find out what it is like to use equipment, attend to activities of daily living and get involved with residents’ families.
Staff value the extra help and enjoy the chance to be role models and share knowledge. Amana Living has received very positive responses from students, many of whom say their English has improved and they would like to work with the organisation again in the future.

MYVISTA is a not-for-profit aged care facility based in Balcatta, which provides high quality residential aged care, home care and retirement living options to older people in the community.
MYVISTA staff and residents have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Stanley College. MYVISTA offers endless opportunities for students to gain experience and knowledge. You will be buddied with an experienced carer and will receive an excellent overview of what it means to be a carer, and the knowledge and personal attributes required.
Dr Mya Daw Sein, MYVISTA’s Director of Nursing, has a strong reputation for her ability to teach and pass on knowledge to students. Mya conducts many training sessions for care staff and Stanley College students actively participate in these sessions. They have shown themselves to be dedicated to learning all they can while performing their duties with dedication and care. Mya and the MYVISTA clinical team act as positive role models to ensure students understand and develop as good carers, displaying fairness, compassion, empathy and kindness.

Over more than 20 years, Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group has grown from a single family-owned nursing home to a leading Australian aged care provider. Hall & Prior has been driven by a commitment to ensuring that quality aged care is accessible for everyone, no matter what their background and circumstances might be.
Hall & Prior have 14 homes in Western Australia and 10 in New South Wales. At Hamersley Aged Care Home in Subiaco, students work alongside experienced care staff and gain hands-on knowledge. Students perform the same activities at the carer on a daily basis, and have the opportunity to connect with residents, their family and other staff members within the home. Hall & Prior homes care for residents with high care needs and also offer respite care, dementia support and palliative care.
