Acquire the skills and knowledge to gain a career in community and/or residential aged care facilities. Learn to provide personal care to people who may require support due to ageing or disability. Be trained in safety procedures and the legal and ethical framework of this sector.
Classes are rostered for 3 days per week.
Full-Time studies require students to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
^Note: Course duration does not include any holidays, where your schedule includes a term break/holiday, this time will be added to your overall course duration.
#Work-Based Training placement must be completed full time (minimum 38 hours per week).
>Please note: Prerequisite entry requirement for Disability – students must be currently studying or have completed the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
*The Materials Fee covers equipment and resources used in the delivery of your course at Stanley College.

Recognition is available (on application) to students with prior skills, experience, knowledge or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area. Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.

During Work-Based Training, you will be able to practice your skills and knowledge in real workplace settings. This will assist you to be job-ready> at graduation. Stanley College has entered into Work-Based Training agreements with a number of employers.
All Work-Based Training is organised by Stanley College’s Employment Liaison Team in consultation with students. Before the commencement of Work-Based Training, students are also required to provide additional documentation:

ˆ National Police Certificate (NPC) contains a list of a person’s disclosable court outcomes and pending charges from all Australian police jurisdictions. This includes traffic and non-police prosecuted matters. Where a student has ‘disclosable outcomes or pending charges’ then this may impact Stanley College being able to successfully place them with a Work-Based Training Host Employer, which may impact students being able to successfully complete their studies.
**Note – Working in the Community Care or Aged Care sectors, including for Work Based Training, may require you to be able to drive to be able to meet the needs of the clients. Therefore, it is recommended you have a valid driver’s licence for these courses.
# WA’s mandatory vaccination policy no longer applies, however the majority of employers providing work-based training places for this course, require students to be Fully Vaccinated = You have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 Vaccination AND a mandatory third dose when it is due (currently 3 months after 2nd dose)
